There is no snow in the forecast. I just love the flag here in the Carondelet Garden. It's my annual January tradition to put the flag out. I always look forward to a good snow day. It harkens back to my days as a public-school educator. Snow days weren't just for the kiddos!
It's dark and chilly outside this first Friday of January. We have been busy this week getting the house back in order after the holidays. We've also been cleaning out stuff. We've been together a long time. We've collected stuff over the years. I'm pretty good at getting rid of things but somehow stuff just keeps turning up. It's been a good week of cleaning house. Making way for a simpler 2023. I remember taking a Marketing class and learned the concept of KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid). It's a good concept, not just for marketing, but for life. We live in a complicated world. Things are constantly changing and whirling about. Whatever we can keep simple just makes things a bit calmer and less complicated. Simplicity. It's a goal for this old gardener. I hope you have a simple year as well. After all we have been through and the continued struggles of this world, country, state, and city, we could all use a space that is simple. A place where we can decompress and simply be. A place where faith can be restored, hope springs eternal and love abounds. That's my wish for us all. That's all the news from here in the Carondelet Garden.
