I can't believe that there is only one more Friday in January.  Where did this month go?  I keep flipping calendar pages.  Since we have retired the oft-asked question of us is "what do you do all day?"  I always have a hard time answering because we are so busy it's crazy.  It's hard to explain.

The planning for the garden continues.  We have turned the soil yet again in the raised beds.  We are ordering soil and dreaming of the harvest to come.  We still have some homemade sauces, jams, soups and frozen veggies in our pantry.  It's such a joy to reach in and get a taste of summer and know we grew that ourselves.  

We are trying to simplify this complicated living of modern life.  Breaking old habits and trying to embrace new ones.  It's difficult to break a lifetime of accumulating stuff and trying to get rid of it in a mindful way.  We are trying to have a simple, ordinary year.  Simple. Ordinary. Year.  Amen.
