02.03.2022 | Winter Storm Day 2

Day:  23-degrees  /  Night:  13-degrees
If you love snowy days, then you are not disappointed today.  It's a winter's wonderland throughout the Carondelet Garden.  Close to 6-inches on the ground already this morning with more to come.  We cannot deny the beauty.  Yet, it's the quiet that stirs my heart. 

Living in an urban environment can be filled with noise.  Trucks, cars, constructions, and city life all create a cacophony of sounds throughout the day and night.  Don't get me wrong, we love our urban life but every now and again it's nice to listen to the quiet. The world stops as the snow blankets everything, and the sound is absorbed into a silence that is so beautiful.  

The fireplace is roaring this winter's day.  Haydn String Quartets are playing in the background.  We have some lovely Breve Coffee brewing, and the blue bag is being torn open to start the ritual of newspapers, crossword puzzles and solving all of the world's problems from the comfort of our own kitchen.  We are so truly fortunate!

Please be safe outside today.  Hopefully, you will not need to venture out but if you do:  Be patient, be vigilant, be safe!  The snow is continuing throughout the day and the winds are pretty strong out of the north at 15 to 25 MPH with some higher gusts possible.  Please be careful our gardening friends!  Be kind to yourself today.
