Happy Cinco de Mayo gardening friends. For this old gardener in South Saint Louis today is also gratitude Friday. Thankful for the gift of friends and neighbors and life in our little Carondelet neighborhood.
Yesterday was one of those perfect days where the weather was outstanding. We had a nice meeting in downtown Saint Louis. We visited the Arch Museum and had a wonderful tour. Joined with friends and makers at the Tower Grove Farmers Market in Francis Park. Then we stopped by a favorite @pietrosstl for some appetizers and drinks. Pretty much a perfect day. We came home and our garage door didn't want to work. The cable and tension had malfunctioned, and I am not that kind of handy. Our neighbors heard the banging around and came to the rescue. Within 30 minutes things were fixed and working again. In a world where we only hear of the hatred and anger we are blessed in our little corner of the world with amazing friends and neighbors who drop what they are doing to come help each other. It's a way of life here in our little corner of South Saint Louis. Today, I am simply taking a moment to reflect and see the way God is working in our lives here in Carondelet. It's time to allow for a gentle, growing gratefulness to sprout in place of the weeds of bitterness and resentment. Grateful. Kindness. Neighbors. Friends. Community. Faith. Hope. Love. Amen!
