Day: 57-degrees | Night: 50-degrees
It is our first try at Asparagus. It's coming up and we are excited. It's quite a commitment to grow Asparagus. I had no idea that this is a three-year nurturing process before you can even begin to harvest. Yet, after that, you can get 25 years or so from the plants? Amazing! I fear the Asparagus is going to outlive me by quite a few years! It's chilly and wet in the Carondelet Garden this morning. The rain should end in the next few hours, but the clouds are supposed to hang around. The winds are out of the NNW at 10 to 20 MPH. It's cloudy and raining and I'm going to hang out inside and drink another cup of coffee, read the newspapers, try not to get depressed and hopefully be productive this afternoon. Then again, maybe I'll just take a nap! Be good and kind to yourself and others this Weekend Eve. Happy Friday Gardening Friends!
