It's a purple Monday here in the Carondelet Garden on this sunny, humid morning in mid-July.  There is a heat advisory for today here in South Saint Louis where the temperature is expected to be over 100 degrees by later this afternoon.  Getting some watering done early this morning.  Be careful if you have to be outside for any length of time.

We had a busy weekend of farmers' markets and chores.  Today we are heading out early to hit the grocery store and run a few more errands before the heat really sets in.  Even the Garden Doodle is happy to sit inside when it is this hot. 

Today is the perfect day to be good and kind to yourself and others.  We are living in crazy times with so much uncertainty and anger.  Our response must be to show a little more kindness.  Like the old song said, "it only takes a spark to get the fire burning."  That's all the news from here in the Carondelet Garden.
