Day: 89-degrees | Night: 68-degrees
Stepped outside to a foggy, humid Monday morning here in the Carondelet Garden. The rain yesterday did wonders for the vegetable garden. The rest of the plantings and the flowers are so much happier as well. No matter how much I water it's not the same as a good, soaking rain from heaven. It just makes all the difference. You can't enjoy the sunshine without a bit of rain. You can't know joy without experiencing sorrow. We've seen our fair share of sorrow over the past few years. Yet, there is joy if you look for it. The key is remembering to look. We often get so bogged down in life that we forget that joy can be found if we just take the time to look for it. It's so easy to say but it can be so difficult to do, especially when you are in the deepest, dark places. It's hard for the light to crack through. Yet, somehow, it will if we hold on. Keep hope alive. Have a bit of a faith. Love. Love one another. Sounds easy. Nope! It's work. Just like gardening is work. We pull the weeds, and we fight the drought, and we watch plants wither. We keep on hoping. The storms come and the fog sets it. We keep on believing. Then the sun rises, and the beauty of a Hibiscus bloom greets you as you walk out the door. We can keep on loving! The areas of patchy fog are beginning to lift, and the sun is shining bright here in South Saint Louis. Partly cloudy skies with light and variable winds. A beautiful day in Carondelet. Get outside and look for a bit of beauty and joy if you can. It'll be worth it. Be good and be kind! Have a great Monday Gardening Friends!
