It's a warm, sunny start to the day here in South Saint Louis. The watering regime has returned to the Garden life. The heat is beginning to build up once again, but the Wave Petunias are hanging in there. The give a nice pop of color to the front garden.
This week is the last of the container tomatoes. The Sweet 100s and Candyland were a delightful addition to our tomato garden. The Romas are just about finished as well. We didn't get as many as we hoped as the critters discovered them before we were able to get many. But we did get a few and tonight we will enjoy some Pico de Gallo! Our pico de gallo recipe came from my wonderful friend from Mexico. We worked together for many years and absolutely fell in love with her and her beautiful family. She left us far too soon last year, but her memory and her delicious recipes live on! Tonight is Cristy's pico! Today is filled with gardening and memories. Love is the common theme. Sorrow because of loss but the memories and love continue on and on and on. Here's to a day filled with faith, hope, love and gardening! That's all the news from here in the Carondelet Garden.
