Day: 71-degrees | Night: 44-degrees
Sad to say this is our last Hardy Hibiscus bloom of the year. She was such a stunning plant all summer and in to Fall. The good news is this beautiful plant will return next year. I love this addition to the Carondelet Garden this year. I'm still waiting for the last of my Garlic to arrive so I can finally finish the last bed. Hopefully, it will arrive today as the weather seems to be a winner today. It's that time of year when I begin to go through all of the junk I've accumulated over the years and try to simplify. I'm not an overly sentimental person about stuff. I'm ridiculously sentimental about people. Send me a picture and a sweet text and this old man is crying like a little baby. The older I get the closer my tear ducts seem to get to the surface. They leek all the time. I don't cry over stuff. I've been pretty good about getting rid of a lot of the clutter. After the loss of parents, family and friends over the years you end up with some things you just didn't have time to deal with at the time. I'm at the point where it's almost finished. Now I have to go through more of my things. It's time. I love the commercial about how if you have not used something in the past year it's not something you need, it's something you are hoarding or something to that effect. Time to simplify. Outside in the Carondelet Garden the sun is shining with winds out of the WSW at 10 to 15 MPH. A glorious day to simplify things. That's the plan anyway. I hope you get to do a little of what you would like to do today. Be good and kind to yourself and others as you venture out in this chaotic world. That's about it from here in the Carondelet Garden.
