Happy Saturday Gardening Friends! We decided to plant Red Clover for our cover plantings this year. It is looking so good. We are quite pleased with the results. We will, of course, know more next Spring but you can't argue with the beauty of this green manure! Today is a Scratchy Saturday for this old man. The 16-year-old got his first newish car and, of course, has already scraped up the front bumper of the car. It's a rite of passage for every young driver. His Dad was not pleased. He and I talked about it, and I offered to take a look. We buffed almost everything out, but a few scrapes went a bit deep. I told him what to do and he went to the dealership himself. Purchased the correct touch-up paint and we are going to fix the rest today. It should look pretty close to brand new by the time we are done. Sometimes, old guys come in handy. We've done this a few times. Yes, I was young once as well and I'm old enough to smile through it. Mistakes happen. It's how we learn from them. How we react to them. That's what counts! I was proud of his maturity and the attitude. He took full responsibility. He didn't try to blame anyone but himself. He wouldn't even take any money to buy anything. He insisted on paying for it himself. It gives me more than a little hope in the future knowing this young man! The winds of change are sure blowing around the Carondelet Garden this morning. The Wind Advisory is still in effect. The skies are cloudy with a slight chance of rain shower. The winds are out of the WSW at 20 to 30 MPH with some bigger gusts! Be careful driving around today. Be good to yourself today. Be kind to yourself and those around you. Have a little hope! It's not as bad as it looks sometimes. Sometimes a little elbow grease and bit of touch-up paint can fix it up. That's all the news from the Carondelet Garden.
