Happy Birthday to the love of my life!  I am the most fortunate of old men.  I have spent the past 40 years with my best friend and someone I adore.  How lucky can one guy be?  Through ups and downs, curves and hills, we've been together through it all and came out the other side a bit stronger and more in love.  

We've had a couple of fires in the old fire pit the past few days.  Last night was no exception.  We always burn a Yule Log at the beginning of Advent.  The anticipation of the light coming into the world.  As we sit in quiet contemplation as the fire burns down to glowing embers it is a reminder that darkness is for now.  Only for now.  This is the season of waiting.  The season of darkness and anticipation.  We wait for the joy of the new season.  The season of birth and new life.  O Come!

We have cloudy skies over the Carondelet Garden this morning with occasional shower possible this afternoon.  Winds are out of the South at 15 to 25 MPH.  We could be in for some gusty winds later this afternoon.
