Day: 44-degrees | Night: 36-degrees
Happy First day of December! It's a chilly start to the morning here in the Carondelet Garden. Low 20s as I stepped outside into the dark of this Thursday. The days are definitely getting shorter. There is definitely an end of Fall feel to the weather right now. Winter is just around the corner. The gardening has slowed down recently. A little cleanup here and there but the rest is just waiting. Isn't that what Advent is all about? Waiting? I was never known for my patience. As the years are adding up the one thing that I've learned is to be willing to wait. Wait in the doctor's office. Wait for the seedlings to take root. Wait. Patience has become a needed skillset as I get older. I'm starting to slow down a bit as well. I've started to notice it takes me a lot longer to do certain things than it used to take. I'm also not willing to do things that I used to take for granted. It's the way it's supposed to be. As I slow down, I do take notice of things I missed before. Maybe that is what Advent is for. Slow down. Wait. Be patient. Listen. Sit in the lingering darkness and wait for the coming light. Come! It's a cloudy day here on the Southside of Saint Louis. Winds are out of the SE at 10 to 15 MPH. It's the first day of December. It's not officially Winter but as far as I'm concerned, it's here! Here's to glad tidings and great joy! Be good to yourself. Be kind to yourself and those around you as you travel about this first Day of December. That's all the news from the Carondelet Garden.
